Which charging stations are compatible?
Our cloud platform is hardware-agnostic. This means: You can connect almost any charging station that supports the standard OCPP (Open Charge Point Protocol). This includes popular brands like Easee, Zaptec, KEBA, ABB, Webasto, and many more. You are not tied to a single manufacturer.
How much does it cost to use the platform?
Getting started is risk-free. The basic version ("eCarUp Free") has no fixed monthly costs. You only pay when you generate revenue: We retain a fair transaction fee of 10% on revenues (this already includes all credit card fees). For professional features (such as advanced analytics or maintenance tools), the "Premium" package is available from 2.20 CHF per month/point.
When and how do I receive my revenues?
Fully automatically. Drivers pay automatically right after the charging process. Your revenues are credited to your eCarUp account (minus the 10% fee). You can have your balance paid out to your bank account at any time with a click, or automate the payout (e.g., quarterly).
Do drivers necessarily need the eCarUp app?
No. While the app is the most convenient way (for filters, history, favorites), it is not mandatory. Every station has a QR code. If a guest scans this ("ad-hoc charging"), they can pay via the website with just a few clicks (credit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay) without having to register.
What exactly does "backend" or "OCPP" mean?
The backend is our software (eCarUp Cloud Platform) that controls everything in the background. OCPP is the "language" your charging station uses to communicate with our software over the internet. As long as your station speaks this language, we understand each other.
Can I decide who is allowed to charge?
Absolutely. In the cloud platform, you manage user groups flexibly: Public, anyone can charge (you determine the price). Companies/Tenants, special tariffs for employees or residents whom you invite via email. Private, only you or your family (e.g., for free).
