Which charging stations are compatible?
Our cloud platform is hardware-agnostic. This means you can connect almost any charging station that supports the standard OCPP (Open Charge Point Protocol). This includes popular brands such as Easee, Zaptec, KEBA, ABB, Webasto, and many others. You are not limited to a single manufacturer.
How much does it cost to use the platform?
Getting started is risk-free. The basic version ("eCarUp Free") has no fixed monthly costs. You only pay when you generate revenue: We charge a fair transaction fee of 10% on revenue (which already includes all credit card fees). For professional features (such as advanced analytics or maintenance tools), the "Premium" package is available starting at 2.20 CHF per month per point.
When and how do I receive my earnings?
Fully automatically. Drivers pay automatically right after charging. Your revenue is credited to your eCarUp account (minus the 10% fee). You can have your balance paid out to your bank account at any time with a single click, or set up automatic payouts (e.g., quarterly).
Do drivers really need the " eCarUp " app?
No. While the app is the most convenient option (for filters, history, and favorites), it is not required. Every station has a QR code. If a guest scans it ("ad hoc charging"), they can pay through the website with just a few clicks (credit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay) without having to register.
What exactly do "backend" and "OCPP" mean?
The backend is our software (eCarUp Cloud Platform) that controls everything behind the scenes. OCPP is the "language" your charging station uses to communicate with our software over the internet. As long as your station speaks this language, we can understand each other.
Can I decide who is allowed to charge?
Absolutely. On the cloud platform, you can manage user groups flexibly: Public—anyone can make a purchase (you set the price); Companies/Tenants—special rates for employees or residents whom you invite via email; Private—only you or your family (e.g., for free).
