Do hotel guests or external visitors need a special charging card?
No, external users do not need a special charging card, a user account, or a pre-installed eCarUp app. The process is completely barrier-free: The driver simply scans the QR code attached to the charging station using their smartphone camera. Payment for the charging session takes place directly in the web browser via credit card, debit card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay (instant/ad-hoc charging). For regular users or employees, custom RFID charging badges can easily be registered.
How do I ensure that external vehicles don't block company parking spots during the day?
With our intelligent timer function, you have complete control over occupancy. You can define fixed times in the web portal (for instance, Monday to Friday from 07:00 to 18:00) during which your stations are set to “Private”. During this period, the charging points are blocked for the public and invisible in charging apps. Only authorized employees or company vehicles can start charging via RFID badge or app. In the evenings and on weekends, the stations automatically switch to public mode if desired.
How straightforward is the expense reporting for company vehicles?
eCarUp automates the entire billing process. As soon as an employee charges a company vehicle at a company station or at their private wallbox at home, our system records all charging data in an audit-proof manner. At the end of the month, eCarUp automatically generates detailed, tax-compliant PDF receipts. These receipts contain all relevant details such as charged kilowatt-hours, tariffs, and locations, allowing employees to submit their expenses to the employer without any manual effort.
Can I connect my existing charging stations to eCarUp?
Yes, in around 95% of all cases this is possible without any issues. eCarUp is built to be strictly hardware-independent. As long as your charging stations support the open, global industry standard OCPP (Open Charge Point Protocol, Version 1.6 or newer), you can connect them directly with eCarUp. Renowned manufacturer brands such as ABB, KEBA, Zaptec, Alfen, Easee, or our own pico station can thus be managed seamlessly in a single web portal.
Can consumption and billing data be exported for controlling?
Yes. For a transparent overview, internal controlling, or service charge billing in rental properties, the eCarUp portal provides comprehensive data exports. You can filter all registered charging sessions, evaluate them by individual user groups, and download them within seconds as a CSV or Excel file. These standardized formats can be imported directly into your accounting software or third-party systems.
